Pakistan is an Islamic state with a population of 140 million peoples . The capital city is Islamabad.
There are about 2.8 million Christians in Pakistan.
Christian are 2%, Buddhists and Hindus are 1%, while 97% of the population are Muslims (Sunni 77%, Shi'a 20%). 60% population is residing in rural area while 40% are residing in big towns and cities.

The Government could not tackle this problem ever since the emergence of Pakistan, which was founded by Mohamed Ali Jinnah, 1947 who was well aware of the nature of his people. That’s why he gave one motto: "Unity, Faith and Discipline".
None of the Ruling parties ever kept this motto in view. The nation therefore remained mostly un-united, and for Sectarian reasons as well. Being under this heavy flood of religious fundamentalism, the Christians are under strong constitutional and social prejudice.
According to the law, the Christian cannot become president, prime-minister, chief of army staff and chief of justice. The blasphemy law is another stigma in the country. Hundreds of Christians are charged of Blasphemy. But most of the cases have been found false and based on personal rifts.
The prejudice and hatred among the Muslim population, create serious problems in the social lives of Christians . After September 11, 2001 attacks on World Trade Center in New York, gave its aftermath for the Christians. Because of that USA and its allies' attack on Afghanistan, the terrorist have attacked Christian institutions, and dozens of Christians have been injured and killed in these attacks.
The terrorists have not only targeted the big institutions like Christian Schools and Churches, but they have targeted even Hospitals and Christian Villages. The Islamic fundamentalists in the country have their strong roots in the villages and small towns all over the country. The youth who go for the training for Jihad are brain washed, injecting specific teachings against the Christians.
These terrorists if survive in their fights and do not have any other skill to earn their living, so they become "professional terrorists", and play at the hands of the religious leaders.
Christians become dependent on the Muslims, due to short on resources, and they have to depend on the Muslims for their economic and social survival. This kind of interaction can`t ensure equal status for the Christians. Considering this background, the Christians, due to their faith, becomes the most vulnerable community in the country.
Most of the Christian people living in the cities do the sanitary work. This is the most social degradable profession. They have been dependent of it for centuries, and there is no prospect for them to improve. The Christian people in the villages work on the lands of the Muslim people, and are considered "out class" in the community.
All this makes them easy targets for the terrorists. If they protest to the situation, nobody will hear them.

The organisation began its work with the Christians living in the remote areas, villages and urban slum. While living among the people of other belief, God gave a vision to start a ministry, helping the Christians to improve spiritual and social. As the Christians do live among the Muslims, they don`t get a fair chance to explore God in their lives.
The children must study in Government schools, where they have to read Islamic education as a compulsory subject. In many cases they become brain washed, and is unable letting the Holy Spirit work in their lives.
According to personal experience of the (DU) members, the children learn the Islamic verses by heart, but do not know how to pray to God through Jesus Christ. Many Christian youth converts to Islam.
Disciple Union International Ministries Pakistan was established, to help Christians and provide for them basic faculties in life, and ensuring their economic and social independence in the society.
