We are publishing this testimony as it is, due to the special "slang"/ or english. I do this because it is a great testimony about a man that are willing to go all the way with God. Read it and learn from it, and if you feel touch in your heart, you know what to do! (Webmaster)
Pastor Charles Katawalo became a born again Christian in the year 1999 and joined our Church in the same year. The Pastor has been faithfully before the eyes of God and he has working in difficult situation because he was coming from the Muslim by religion. His Parent and Relatives they have been discriminating him and moved from his father’s house and stayed at Pastor Kapito’s house that was the year 2000.
Although Pastor Katawala has been facing so many Problem, God has been using him in Evangelism in his respected area. In preaching and teaching the good news of Jesus Christ.
In the year 2004 Katawala was ordained as a Pastor. God continued using him as a powerful preacher and during his first church service ministering as a pastor many people were moved and blessed with his teaching.
The rumor was all over that Katawala is now a full time pastor and his parents did not believe that their son could be a pastor. One day his father and mother attended one of his Gospel Crusades and that day he was teaching from Luke 13:22 and he was telling people that “you have to strive to enter the narrow door that leads to life”.
His mother started shouting saying that “how can I become a Christian”? That time his father was listening. During that day of crusade 250 people received Jesus Christ including his father and mother.
For nothing is impossible with God and as I am saying his parents are Christians now and they were baptized. Pastor Katawala is going ahead teaching the word of God although he is living in difficult situations. Although he is in situation of shortage of food for three to four days he is not weakened.
He is based now in Nsanje assisting the senior Pastor Kapito in the vision of opening a new church branch. In Nsanje there are water floods from Shire River and 15,000 people are in need of relief items including the pastor but each and everyday he is trying to make ten to twenty people to receive Jesus Christ daily. Pastor Katawala he does take four days without eating any solid food and instead he does drink hot salt water instead of tea for survivor.
He does travel from Nsanje Boma to Mgabu which is 40 kms on foot at every two days and on the way without taking any food and now he is loosing his body weight meaning to say he is not fat as he was. He has been given great responsibilities as a district pastor for Nsanje.
