Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid Refuse to Allow Chaplain Who Prays "in Jesus Name," but Welcome Hinduism to the Floor of the U.S. Senate By Press Release: Wanda Sanchez (07/12/07)
WASHINGTON, July 12 /Christian Newswire/ -- A Hindu chaplain will pray a Hindu prayer on the floor of the U.S. Senate for the first time in history. But yesterday, staffers from the offices of Senator Clinton (D-NY) and Harry Reid (D-NV) both denied a request for equal access to a chaplain who prays "in Jesus name."
Former Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt personally visited the Washington offices of both Senators on July 10th, but was turned away. Recommend this article... |

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, who claims to be a Methodist, is one of the two main sponsors (the other being Sen. Harry Reid) of Senate prayers by a Hindu chaplain from Nevada: On Thursday, a Hindu chaplain from Reno, Nevada, by the name of Rajan Zed is scheduled to deliver the opening prayer in the U.S. Senate. Zed tells the Las Vegas Sun that in his prayer he will likely include references to ancient Hindu scriptures, including Rig Veda, Upanishards, and Bhagavard-Gita. Historians believe it will be the first Hindu prayer ever read at the Senate since it was formed in 1789. Recommend this article... |

Sometimes I am apathetic and listless toward Spiritual things. Is the Bible speaking to me; Am I one of the spiritual sluggards talked about in Pro 26:15 Some of us are so lazy that we won't lift a hand to feed ourselves. Pro 26:16 A lazy person says, "I am smarter than everyone else." If I am Spiritually apathetic, then I will not feed myself on the spiritual food I need. I will not be interested in or care about making a minimal effort towards my salvation. For me to hunger and thirst after righteousness must mean that I need to do more than I am doing at this time. I should: Make a constant, concentrated effort. The foundation of this. My best effort is based on knowing that I am lacking. Pro 12:27 Anyone too lazy to cook will starve, but a hard worker is a valuable treasure. The lazy man does not cook what he took in hunting, but hard work is precious possession. Since I admit being lazy about this matter, I make little or no effort to cook the spiritual food I have access to. I seldom think about the spiritual input I have; instead I neglect and it will spoil, dry up, and become useless. Spiritual gift gone badly? Can they? Recommend this article... |
