Where Does “Faith” Come From?

When I attended Bible school, this verse was quoted constantly by all our instructors: “Faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of God” (Romans 10:17).

Carnal vs. Spiritual

“But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh” (1 Corinthians 3:1-3).
Repentance isn’t about using your willpower to stop sinning. True repentance is in trusting the gospel, which has the power to set you free from sin. The choice is yours: willpower or God’s power working in you.

Who Does God Oppose?

I write with an emphasis on God’s love for us and how much He desires to help and bless us. You would think from much of what I have written, I wouldn’t believe God is opposed to anyone. Well, He is! Allow me to explain who they are and why He opposes them.
I have traveled all over the world sharing the gospel. A large part of my ministry has been in teaching and training leaders. I am often with these precious people for just a few hours, so I understand my time is limited, and I don’t want to waste any of it. I want to impart to them truth they will never ever forget to help them be powerful and effective ministers of God’s Word.

How to Maintain a Healthy Spiritual Diet

Eating an unbalanced diet will eventually affect your physical health. The same is true if you are spiritually unbalanced.
Recently, I have seen warnings from ministers to “beware” of focusing too much on God's love. They seem to believe it is a dangerous thing to have too much information, knowledge, or experience about God's love. My question to them is, “What possible danger is there in knowing and experiencing too much of God's love?”
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

The Truth about Faith

Faith isn’t convincing yourself God’s Word is true. It is being persuaded in your heart that God is good. Faith is a response to knowing and trusting in God. Faith isn’t a performance we do to seek God’s approval or earn His favor and blessings. Biblical faith is a response to knowing God’s character.
